Judicaël Eymard

A visual artist and ceramist based in Puisaye, Judicaël Eymard roams landscapes to draw materials and forms from them: wood-fired in situ sculptures, somewhere between altar, column and refuge.

Vigie is a column-presence, conceived as a metamorphic rock. Its base is already stone and carries the solidity of the ground; as it rises, the material lightens, the modeling frees itself and unfolds in movements of water, up to an airy, openwork architecture. White stoneware, porcelain and glass blend together: the piece asserts a powerful sculptural presence while letting light pass through it, which animates and transforms it from dawn to dusk. More than an object, Vigie stands like a watch, a silent presence turned toward the open sea.
