Vincent Bergier

Bio

Vincent Bergier is an illustrator, comic book author and musician. After a degree in plastic arts and a stint at the École Supérieure des Arts Datif in Strasbourg, he moved to Paris, where he developed an abundant visual practice, between press, publishing and music.

He regularly collaborates with iconic titles like Le Monde, Télérama, Topo, La Revue Dessiné or Citrus. He also illustrates numerous children's books for houses such as Le Seuil, L'Agrume, Actes Sud, Flammarion, La Martinière, Bayard, Bayard, Nathan or Magnard. For Arte, he notably created illustrations for the show Karambolage.

As an author, he publishes The Kings of Oil at Éditions de la Pastèque (Canada), a comic book album with sharp humor and expressive drawing.

A musician, he composes for audiovisual projects (in particular for the web series). Cult d'Arte), and plays in the band The Box, who publishes vinyl on French and American labels — whose covers he sometimes signs. Vincent Bergier thus cultivates a work at the crossroads of the arts, curious, generous and fully committed to its time.

Residency project

As part of the 2025 comic book residency at La Rocabella, Vincent Bergier will support five young authors in an exploration work around the theme “The rise of perils”.

As a reference artist, he will offer a framework that is both benevolent and demanding, based on his experience in the press, children's illustration and independent comic books. It will encourage residents to develop unique, visually embodied stories, while helping them structure a strong narrative that will appeal to a publisher or a support committee such as that of CNL.

Sensitive to the intertwining of content and form, he will emphasize the coherence between subject, drawing and reading rhythm. He will regularly intervene in workshops to offer feedback, group discussions, but also moments of creative breathing (live sketches, drawn improvisations, spontaneous fanzines...).

Committed to a free and lively comic strip, Vincent will support each resident in the development of a personal project, while promoting a collective dynamic based on exchange, the pleasure of drawing... and a certain dose of humor.
