Sistine Dano

Bio

With a master's degree in Animation Cinema at Gobelins l'École de l'Image, Sixtine Dano is a comic book author and cartoonist, director, 2D animator, illustrator and occasionally professor of animation. In 2018, she co-directed her final year short film, Thermostat 6, an award-winning eco-fiction selected at numerous festivals. Sixtine also leads a double life as a climate activist with several associations (Action Justice Climat, Ende Gelände, Friends of the Earth...). On trial for having demonstrated against the expansion of Roissy airport, she also participates in committed art groups and draws during trials of climate activists with the Movement of Environmental Defenders. In 2025 she signed her first graphic novel with Glénat Sibylline, Chronicles of an Escort Girl. In it, she shares the intimate and complex story of a student who experiments with paid sex while studying architecture. This story is inspired by moving testimonies of real “escort girls” and “sugar babies” met in Paris over several years. The comic is accompanied by a preface by Solann and an animated trailer created by the author. Sixtine also shares on her second Instagram account her passions for hiking, climbing and Parisian nights, which she captures on film.

Residency project

Sixtine Dano's residency project in Rocabella is a continuation of her eco-fiction work begun with Thermostat 6.

Taking advantage of the serenity of the place, Sistine will work on storyboarding and graphic research for her next book. Spending two months at Villa Rocabella, surrounded by talented artists, is an opportunity for her to take the time, far from the obligations of Paris, to devote herself to writing a new graphic novel project as well as to visually explore a new colorful universe.
