Noa Bouchon
Bio
A graduate of EICAR and passionate about the power of the image, Noa Bouchon is a director and photographer who places human encounter at the heart of her work. Her career is marked by solid technical experience, gained notably as an HF assistant on major international events (Athletes' Parade at the 2024 Olympics, Chanel and Louis Vuitton shows during Fashion Week, reopening of Notre-Dame). The demands of live broadcasting and high-stakes sets have given her bulletproof technical mastery and equipment management.
It is in documentary, however, that Noa fully expresses her artistic vision. After co-directing two films in Norway in 2025, she continues her exploration of real-life storytelling through immersion projects, such as her recent residency in Toulon. A fashion photographer and camera assistant on fiction productions (Mon ami Paul), she navigates between technical precision and visual sensitivity. For Noa, every project is an opportunity to tell the world as it is, blending the aesthetics of the image with the truth of the testimonies she gathers.
Residency project
For her residency at Rocabella, Noa Bouchon joins Juliette Moaty, Léo de Broc, and Maxime Raussin for the documentary film 'Les Gardiennes de la Mer' (Guardians of the Sea). This project explores the world of female freediving, a realm of silence and self-transcendence. Within this collective, Noa brings her expertise in documentary storytelling and her ability to capture the authenticity of human exchanges in demanding environments.
The setting of Rocabella, between its historic villas and privileged access to Mediterranean depths, offers an ideal playground for this narrative. Noa focuses on documenting the physical and spiritual bond uniting these freedivers with the sea. By filming the preparations on the shore and the immersion into the depths, she seeks to convey the drive and discipline of these women. This project goes beyond showcasing breathtaking underwater imagery; it engages in a reflection on our relationship with the living world. Through her camera, Noa Bouchon transforms this sporting adventure into an ecological and poetic fable, celebrating the strength and serenity of the sentinels of the blue.
