Jérémie Le Hénaff
Bio
Journalist and documentary author, Jérémie Le Hénaff has shaped his vision within the most demanding newsrooms of European audiovisual. A regular contributor to ARTE, he has put his pen and analytical sense at the service of flagship programs such as Karambolage and Le Dessous des Images, where images are dissected to reveal their deeper meaning. His career, marked by an extended immersion in Berlin, has led him to work on varied documentary formats, from the KIDS series to the cultural news of Tracks East.
A former contributor to AFP and TV5 Monde, Jérémie possesses solid field experience and a rare ability to synthesize complex processes into captivating narratives. A specialist in narrative decryption, he strives to understand how an intention becomes a work. His approach, at the boundary between journalism and artistic research, favors long-form engagement and deep listening. For him, every project is an investigation into the imaginary, where the rigor of information meets the aesthetics of creative documentary to offer an enlightened reading of contemporary cultural dynamics.
Residency project
For his residency at Rocabella, Jérémie Le Hénaff carries, alongside Vincent Jondeau, the ambitious project of documenting the genesis of the residency through a documentary film focused on reflection and artistic process. Drawing on his expertise gained at Le Dessous des Images, he does not merely film artists at work, but seeks to 'read' and 'translate' the creative process as it unfolds within the estate.
The project revolves around three reading axes. The Investigation of Gesture: using interviews and observation to capture the evolution of an idea, from the first sketch to the final realization in the gardens or villas of Rocabella. The Place as Catalyst: analyzing how the exceptional setting of the Riviera influences the technical and aesthetic choices of residents, transforming the estate into a full-fledged actor in the creative process. The Memory of Process: producing a documentary object that serves as a reflective archive, enabling artists (and the public) to understand the intellectual and sensitive mechanisms underpinning the residency.
At Rocabella, Jérémie Le Hénaff acts as an analytical mirror. His documentary aims to be a living archive and a mediation tool, offering an unprecedented dive into the collective intelligence of the estate, where the 'making' is as important as the 'result.'
