I heard the call of the open sea when I left aeronautics for image-making, with no school and no safety net. It is the moment when the horizon stops being a backdrop and becomes a decision. At Rocabella, I want to film artists who have made that same choice of life out of their practice, and capture what the sea and the light do to those who create in front of them. The first light in a still-silent studio, a gesture beginning, a material taking shape: making the link between art and life visible.
