The days are getting longer, the Mediterranean light regains its softness, the gardens come back to life after winter — and our calendar is full of an appointment that we consider to be one of the most important in all wedding preparations: the technical visit. Before the dresses, before the flowers, before the first DJ chords, there is this key day where everything is decided, everything is visualized, everything is articulated. And for an organizer, it is as precious as D-Day itself.

Why Mars and April? The right time, the right light!

La Rocabella is becoming a playground for Wedding Planners and bride and groom between March and April. The high season has not yet started, which allows us to devote time, availability and all our attention to each couple we welcome. But there is a golden rule that we always recommend: carry out the technical visit at least two months before the wedding date. Why? Because it is in this window that the decisions taken can still be adjusted, that the providers can still adapt their schedules, and that the bride and groom can sleep soundly when evening comes. Waiting until the last minute means being exposed to hasty arbitrations — and a marriage deserves much better than that.

A Location Survey That Tells a Whole Story

The first step in a technical visit is to walk the estate together. Not as visitors, but as masters of the place in the making. With the bride and groom and their Wedding Planner, we go through each space, always asking the same fundamental questions:

Where do you want to say “yes”?

Some couples dream of a secular ceremony facing the sea, carried by the panorama and the sound of the waves. Others prefer the privacy of a green space, where the shade of the trees creates an almost sacred atmosphere. La Rocabella offers several possible scenes, and it is during the visit that the couple projects, feels, and decides. This decision then conditions all the logistics: placement of the aisles, orientation of the chairs, natural light at a particular time of the day depending on the season.

Where will you be hosting your gala dinner?

Indoor or outdoor? In mid-season, the question deserves to be asked seriously. We guide the bride and groom to the most relevant choices according to their date: La Corniche and its elegant La Frégate room for a cozy atmosphere sheltered from the night wind, or in front of the temple for summer evenings when the starry sky becomes the most beautiful decoration.

And the next day for brunch?

This often underestimated moment deserves its own attention. The outdoor patio, bathed in the midday sun and naturally sheltered, is an ideal scene for those relaxed Sunday morning reunions — free buffet, free traffic, final exchanges between guests before goodbyes.

Technical Aspects: Nothing Can Be Improvised

This is where the technical visit reveals its full value. Because a marriage is also a production — with technicians, equipment, acoustic constraints and logistical requirements that only serious identification can anticipate.

The DJ and the sound management

The acoustics vary radically from one space to another. The Temple, Rocabella's signature sound, is designed for the party: isolated from sleeping areas, it allows you to increase your power without constraint. But the DJ still has to have had time to measure the volumes, test the feedback and validate his installation well in advance. The technical visit is the only time when this can be done peacefully.

Light and scenography

Light is the soul of an evening. With the lighting teams, we review each sequence of the evening: the outdoor cocktail with its last light of day, the transition to dinner, the entrance to the room, the first dance. Each attachment point, each spotlight, each strategically thought-out candle — everything is decided here.

The flow of services

A successful gala dinner is also about well-positioned cuisine, accessible offices and service that circulates without ever meeting the eyes of the guests at the wrong time. We use the seating plan, the flow of entries and exits, the buffer zones — the fluidity of a service is always prepared with our feet on the ground.

Because the bride and groom may have validated a 2D plan, imagined the spaces from photos, and exchanged dozens of emails with their Wedding Planner — nothing can replace the moment when they stand on the terrace, look at the view and say to each other: this is where it will happen.

The technical visit is also a moment of reconnection to the essentials. We go back to the weekend together, hour by hour, space by space. Questions that have been dragging on for weeks are being answered. The hesitations evaporate. And the bride and groom leave with something invaluable: the confidence that everything is in good hands.
